As part of this blog tour, there is a read along. Follow the tour to get the whole story. Here is my part:
Drew smiled at Anya. “They have dogs in Russia, I assume?”
“Yes, even larger than those, in fact. I used to care for a wolfhound.”
“So did I!” Drew exclaimed. “I loved ole’ Clarence. He was big and really good at keeping strangers away.”
“Is he with you?” Gregori piped up.
“No, lad,” Drew continued, with a sigh. “Unfortunately, as with other members of my family, I had to leave him behind.”
“He must miss you a lot.” Gregori’s voice was sad.
“Aye. I miss him, too.” The trio laughed as they listened to the howls in the distance. Apparently Reuben and Bauer had arrived at the park and were already chatting with their neighbors.
Drew took Gregori’s hand, and smiled at Anya. “The house is just down the way. I will take you around the city tomorrow.”
“You don’t have to work?” Anya asked, not wanting him to get in trouble.
“No. This Saturday is my own,” he said with a smile. “And I can’t think of a better, more beautiful person to spend it with.”
Anya tried to ignore the sudden heat of her body. “I am sure my new master will probably wish me to begin work.”
Drew grimaced. “Boss or employer, Anya, there are no masters here.”
