Prophecy: An elfin child on the side of the light will be born with the gift of sight. He will be the son of a great warrior. His father will lead the great battle with his son by his side. This child is the only chance the elves have to avoid extinction.“The Book of Elfin Prophecy”Compiled 112 BCE
Keegan is a sixteen year old elf who lives among humans,
goes to high school, loves shopping and going to Starbucks. All of Keegan’s life, she has dreamt of the
day when she would find out who her “chosen” one would be. This would be her life-long mate. This is pre-determined and nobody is supposed
to know who their mate is going to be until they are eighteen. Keegan’s young brother, Thaddeus, has the
gift of sight and told her the name of whom her mate is going to be. The reasoning for this is because Thaddeus
knows that Keegan will eventually need protection and who better to do that
than Rourk, her chosen mate.
Unbeknownst to her, every time she thinks about him, she is
calling to him. It is very difficult for
Rourk to not go see her when she is calling him. Rourk does not know Keegan’s name at first,
but knows that she is his chosen one.
In the elfin society, there are the light elves and the dark
elves. They have been in a war for
centuries. There is a prophecy among the
elves and there is soon going to be a great battle between the two sides. This book tells of how Keegan, her family and
the rest of the light elves are going to prepare for this battle.
This book was easy to read. The events that happened in the beginning of the book were easy to follow and you could understand why people felt the way that they did. I didn't ever feel lost while reading the book.

Ever since she was a child she had dreamed of meeting her choses mate. She had woven fairy tales in her head of how perfect their life would be.
Sixteen-year-old Keegan is struggling to keep her huge
secret from her friends-she's an elf, descended from a long line of elves that
live in secrecy alongside humans.
In elfin society,
mates are predetermined but not allowed to meet until they are eighteen. Against tradition, Keegan's brother Thaddeus
told her Rourk's name because his visions warned him she'd need Rourk's
protection, especially since Keegan will play a key role in the coming war
between the dark and light elves.
Rourk finds himself
drawn to Keegan's side every time she thinks his name. He wants to talk to her
but remains in the shadows, silently guarding her every time she mentally
beckons him. A twist of fate thrusts the two of them together when Rourk is
forced to step up his protection and make his presence known.
An ancient prophesy
deeply entwines Keegan's family and the future of their society. Somehow they
must find a way to thwart fate and win the battle...without losing Keegan. With
war brewing, and dark forces aligning, will Keegan and Rourk ever have the life
together that they both desire?
Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong. – Francisco d’AnconiaSmiling, Richard thought, Francisco, you have not met my wife.
*I LOVED this book!! I loved the suspense of Keegan not knowing
who Rourk is, and calling him whenever she thought of his name.
*How the interaction between the
Thaddeus and Keegan seem like normal siblings.
*How Thaddeus deals with his gift
and balances that with being a teenage boy and a warrior for the light elves.
*I loved the romance in this
book. How people are more than they
seem.
*Everything made sense. You could understand people's actions and feelings.
*Everything made sense. You could understand people's actions and feelings.
*The book ended so soon.
I wanted to know more about Keegan, Rourk and the rest of the
characters. This is definitely a series
I want to keep an eye on!!
Richard looked over at Rourk. "You better get used to this son. It takes two or three times longer to get anywhere with her when she has a camera in her hand."
Looking amused, Rourk said, "I would wait forever for her."
That’s a lot of responsibility for a twelve year old. He’d rather play video games with his best friend and make fun of his older sister Keegan than have constant visions about the fate of elf-kind.
Unfortunately, his visions are happening more and more as the time of the prophesied battle approaches, and it’s making it hard for him to live a normal life. At the urging of his father, leader of the Light Elves, Thaddeus begins a journal as part of his training; even though he thinks it’s lame.
Through his witty and wise eyes, we glimpse the world of Julia Crane’s “Coexist”, a novel about the battle between good and evil and the triumph of love.
In the Mind of Thaddeus can be read as a stand alone story or as a supplement to “Coexist”. It is a 7,500 word novelette.
I haven't heard a release date yet for this book. I'm anxiously awaiting it.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I am so grateful to book bloggers such as yourself that take time to review author's work.
